The moving East – global maps and the status law

The concept of globalisation makes the impression that the world is being homogenised, and previous divisions are abolished or devalued. In reality, however, globalisation does not anull the East-West gap and the nationalist and imperialist programs related to that. The only change is that the East-West borders can be floated and some extent shifted along the slope of globalisation.

The changing face of the far right in Western Europe

Many believe, especially in the militant anti-fascist movement, that the result achieved by Jean-Marie Le Pen in the 2002 Spring elections marks the revival of fascism. This is wrong. We are facing an atypical and historically unprecedented right, which has replaced the cult of the state by ultra-liberalism, corporatism by market reactions, and sometimes even nationalism is replaced by regional or purely local particularism.
