Crime as governance

Organised crime is one of the branches of big business: the illegal sector of capital. During the 1990s organised crime, through its "gross criminal product" has become the twentieth richest organisation in teh world. Richer that 150 soveregn states. Crime is not only the goalé of power but is also one of the forms of power through the economic processes related to capital accumulation and the reproduction of social life and political power.

The transnationalisation of law raises the question whether the power of nation states is declining and withit the monopoly of legislation on the nation state. The transnationalisation of law means the restructuring, rather than reducing of the existing governmental system. The elements of the global rule of law are related to the existing legal practice.

It is in fact a precondition to the global efficiency of the market mechanism.

On the margins of an unclosable dispute
