There are basically two methods for the falsification of history. One iof them is to keep silent on certain aspects of history, and the other one is to start the history of certain things from a particular date and forget about the background.

The book of the famous French historian (in Defence History) was published in Hungarian but the chapter on the Hungarian conquest and our first king Stephen I. were omitted by the editor Domokos Kosáry in 1974. It is nevertheless useful to see how Western historians view the early Hungarians.

The 1919 events are typical examples of how our histoty is re-interpreted and misinterpreted by some authors. The better case is when the former "red tail" is replaced by a "civic tail" but there are examples that mirror the bias of the very partisan times of the early 1950s.

The American professor explains how the concept of fascism evolved in the recent decades. He elaborates on the relation between ani-Semitism and fascism, and also on the problems of concepts like totalitarianism (the short version of the interview was published in Népszabadság).
