The author discusses possibilities for a second wave of the world revolution. The first was the attempt of the Bolsheviks, which failed by the Stalinist turn. Today "the only perspective for a global revolution is establishing revolutionary powder-kegs in the »Third World«, which would create horizontal ties among each other – ignoring fundamental imperialist cultural institutions and narratives of the »First World« – leading to subsequent armed struggle and organisation of uprisings, establishing of »liberated zones« and seizing of power in specific countries."

Poland hosted a comprehensive international conference in 1997 on the martial law introduced in December 1981. The top headline at the conference was the publication of the notebook of Marshal Kulikov's secretary Viktor Anoshkin, who kept regular entries during the events. Many of the participants even questioned the authenticity of the document. Based on debates and events of the era and on other sources, the author of the study believes that the notebook is original. The bottom line was, of course, whether the Soviet Union should give military "help" to the Polish Communist Party to manage the situation.

Probably the hottest question of recent times is the problem of employment, its extent and types also involving unemployment, the lack of proper jobs and the expansion of part-time and e-working and fixed term contracts, which increase the defenceless the of workers.

Hungarian economic thinking tends to accept many now mostly outdated economic relationships as unquestionable axioms. Many of these axioms have been outdated by the fact that the one time free market capitalism has been replaced by a capitalism ruled by large global companies. Other myths have been fixed in the period of state-socialism and intractably survived in the present capitalist environment although they have little to do with present reality.

Anti-Semitism, holocaust denial and relativism have disappeared also in the official politics in East Europe. The author, the director of the Israel office of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, lists many examples from the Baltic states.
