The man who inflicted the most serious defeats on the empire of Hitler is the least known figure among the most prominent and victorious military leaders, both in the West and in Hungary, too. This article tries to give a (more) authentic portrait of the marshal – the commander, politician and human being, whose figure, similarly to that of Suvorov, has been transformed into a national hero in the eyes of the Russian people.

The study calls the attention to the conclusion that Lenin's political and theoretical views on the first Russian revolution are organically and directly rooted in the historical-economical-theoretical and political analysis of the capitalist system, more precisely the Russian capitalism. From the perspective of his "preparation" for the revolution of 1905 (and 1917) it is such a fundamental circumstance that is necessary to understand his political-strategic considerations that later played a dominant role in his revolutionary activity and thinking.
