The ideological speciality of teh neoconservative movement, which has extensive influenece in the most venal circles of the American intelligentsia is the amalgamation of unconditional devotion to the market and xenophobic and religious bigotry. The article presents the political and intellectual image, roots and evolution of neoconservatism. It paints a dark picture of the mental, moral and political decline, which is encapsulated by the "mafia" (to use the author's term) behind President Bush.
